"I have moved around the country for thirteen years, and it is only now that I feel that have found a "keeper" dentist, whom I might actually drive a distance for should I have to move again. Why? I had a 6.5-hour appointment including three wisdom-tooth extractions, fillings, and periodontal work. Doctor Truong kept me at ease regarding the procedure and personally met with me beforehand for about 30 minutes to describe it and let me answer questions. I'm a lawyer and ask lots of questions; she was remarkably patient with me. I went to work the day after my 6.5-hour procedure (I did sleep in), and I'm sure that Dr. Truong deserves a good amount--if not all--of the credit for that. I took just one Vicodin, the night afterward, "just because," and that simply amazes me. It is not due to any heroic tolerance for pain on my part.
Doctor Truong called me herself on her cell phone that evening to follow up and see how things were going. She promptly returned my call on a Sunday afternoon when I wanted to inquire about loosening stitches. My two follow-up visits were "on the house" as part of the treatment; yes, both of them. Doctor Truong also made time at the end of the day to inspect one of my extraction sites. And, she's so friendly she actually makes going to the dentist pretty pleasant.
I should also say a word about her staff: they're great, too. I can see that Doctor Truong values professionalism and friendliness, as this comes out in her staff more than other doctors/dentists I visit.
As far as billing goes, I've had two insurance policies while under her care, and I've had no problems with either. Insurance is complicated, and you should always call your insurer to verify stuff before you get work done; even then, insurance companies are stingy, especially dental insurance, and may give you unwarranted grief. C'est la vie. That said, I've had no issues with Doctor Truong's staff's estimates, she's given me a discount for up-front payment (5%), and she has payment plans for those who can't. It's all gone perfectly well for me.
I should mention that the main reason I picked Doctor Truong in the first place was that of the three dentists recommended to me, she was the cheapest. How lucky for me that she's all of the other things above, too! I am so happy a coworker recommended Doctor Truong and her staff to me. So long as I live within a reasonable distance of Sacramento, I will never change dentists and will recommend her heartily to everyone I can." -Matt C.
